Diagnostic Imaging
Diagnostic imaging is vital for the diagnosis and treatment of our patients here at Lumbry Park.
Overview
Our dynamic diagnostic imaging team is made up of highly-experienced fully-qualified radiographers, imaging nurses and board-certified radiology specialists. We work with all other services in the hospital to ensure the best for the patient at all stages, from deciding which type of imaging will be best, to interpretation of the complex images.
The team acquires and interprets radiographs, CT, MRI, fluoroscopy and ultrasound examinations. Having multiple imaging specialists on site allows us to make faster diagnoses and perform targeted sampling. Compared with other centres where all imaging studies may be sent for remote interpretation, the specialists at Lumbry Park can make diagnostic and treatment decisions without delay.
We are also proud to be a training centre for the next generation of European board-certified specialist radiologists.
We offer a full range of imaging techniques. Our imaging facilities include:
- 1.5T high field MRI scanner – Helium-free for a sustainable solution
- 16 slice CT scanner
- Direct digital radiography X-ray suite
- Mobile digital X-Ray unit
- High-definition ultrasound scanner
- Wireless point-of-care ultrasound scanners
- Fluoroscopy unit
- Cloud-based PACS
