We have welcomed Denise Moore, MA, VetMB CertVOphthal, MRCVS, VN, to Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists. We can now offer a first class Ophthalmology service with every diagnostic facility including ultrasound, ERG, CT and MRI and every surgical facility including phacoemulsification for cataract surgery.

We can provide the following services for your clients:

  • The medical management of all ocular diseases including dry eye, uveitis and glaucoma.
  • Eyelid surgeries – routine (entropion/ectropion) and complex.
  • ‘Cherry eye’ surgery.
  • Surgery for the removal of abnormal eyelashes (cryosurgery, sharp surgery).
  • Corneal disease – medical and surgical management including corneal cross-linking to stimulate the healing of ‘melting’ corneal ulcers and a range of grafting techniques for complex corneal ulcers.
  • Management of ocular trauma/removal of foreign bodies.
  • Cataract and lens luxation surgeries.
  • Investigation of ocular tumours.
  • Investigation of sudden onset blindness.
  • Investigation of neuro-ophthalmic disease.

 

Denise has spent the past 17 years running a very busy ophthalmology referral service for a private Veterinary Hospital in Worthing, West Sussex. Prior to that Denise spent 8 years working in the ophthalmology department at the Royal Veterinary College in London; 3 years as a resident and 5 years as a staff clinician. She also ran an ophthalmology referral clinic at a private Veterinary Hospital in Wanstead, London one evening every week for 12 years.

Denise obtained her Certificate in Ophthalmology in 1995 and studied toward a Diploma in Ophthalmology whilst she was at the RVC. Denise is interested in every aspect of ophthalmology but especially in corneal and cataract surgery.
