After graduating from the University of Cordoba Veterinary School in Spain, Javier worked in several first opinion practices in his home country and a small veterinary hospital for three years during which period he gained a certificate in ophthalmology.

Javier moved to the UK in 2020 and initially worked in a small first opinion practice in Weymouth before completing two ophthalmology internships at Rowe Referrals in Bristol and DWR Veterinary Specialists in Six Mile Bottom.

In December 2023, Javier joined the ophthalmology team at Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists as an intern and shortly after, in February 2024, he commenced his ECVO residency.  He is also currently enrolled in another certificate in ophthalmology.

Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, exploring nature with his dogs and CrossFit.
