Xavier graduated as a veterinary surgeon from the University of Zaragoza in Spain, completing his clinical rotations at Ghent University in Belgium. Following his graduation, he moved to the United Kingdom and worked as a general practitioner in a busy, multidisciplinary small animal practice in West Yorkshire. Eager to deepen his expertise in small animal medicine, Xavier pursued a rotating internship at The University of Glasgow Small Animal Hospital, later joining the Internal Medicine Service as a Junior University Clinician in Internal Medicine.
In August 2021, Xavier joined Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists as an ECVIM-CA Resident in Small Animal Internal Medicine, while also collaborating with the University of Surrey School of Veterinary Medicine as a Clinical Instruction Mentor (CIM) and visiting researcher. After completing his residency in August 2024, Xavier continued to work with the team as a Clinician in Internal Medicine and Acute Medicine. He achieved the Diplomate status as a European Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine (Dip.ECVIM-CA) in 2025.
Xavier has a broad interest in canine and feline internal medicine, with particular focus on immune-mediated disorders, liver disease, emergency medicine, and also feels passionate about education.
