I started at Lumbry Park over 5 years ago, in December 2019, in my role as lab technician. Over this time, I have worked together with clinicians and nurses, building a close relationship with them to obtain reliable lab results promptly. My role includes processing blood and urine, sending tests to external labs, calibrating the equipment to ensure reliable results, updating software and organising the servicing of our lab machinery. I also train nurses and PCAs in how to use our equipment and the correct procedures for lab work. With my background and education in Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry and my love of animals, I think I have found an ideal role here at the lab in Lumbry Park.
Outside of work I like spending free time with my family and my greyhound Tilly, travelling, reading, gardening and cooking.
