Kerrie qualified as an RVN in 2009 at Greenmount Agriculture College in Northern Ireland. She went on to work as a large and small animal mixed nurse for seven years at Clare Veterinary Group on the outskirts of Belfast. Her role took her from being out on farms TB testing, to helping with night time cow and sheep caesareans, and from routine anaesthesia on bitch spays/dog castrations to more complex soft tissue surgeries. Kerrie decided she wanted to gain more experience with different species and from 2014 to 2016 moved to Ontario, Canada, where she had her first experience of veterinary referral practice. Whilst there, she worked as an ECC specialist night technician, and, among other very interesting cases, they treated snapping turtles’ cracked shells, performed faecal transplants and extracted porcupine quills from nosey canines.
In 2016, Kerrie moved to England and joined an orthopaedic and neurology referral hospital where she found her passion for neurology. Working closely with some of the best veterinary neurologists in the UK, she enjoyed learning there; from brain disease to spinal myelopathies, scrubbing into complex spinal stabilisations and teaching clients about their pets rehabilitation.
She joined the Lumbry Park Neurology Team in 2021 and progressed from Neurology RVN Clinical Lead to Neurology RVN Team Leader in 2025. She is currently studying/working towards a Veterinary Technician Speciality (VTS) in Neurology.
In her spare time, Kerrie is a very keen swimmer and loves to spend every moment that she can with her big, handsome Staffie, Lewis.
