Karla graduated from The University of Cambridge in 2011 and initially worked as an equine vet in Yorkshire where she did both ambulatory work and anaesthetised horses for the clinic. That led to a residency in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia at the University of Edinburgh.
Upon completion, she moved south of the border to work at an another large specialist referral practice in Hampshire, where she progressed to Head of Anaesthesia. Karla joined Lumbry Park in the summer of 2020, was appointed Head of Anaesthesia in 2021 and has been Clinical Director since 2023.
Karla is particularly interested in the management of chronic pain. In her spare time she runs competitively for Winchester Running Club and Northern Ireland. When she is not running she enjoys long walks with her English Pointer, Caper.
