Joanne graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2006, receiving special merit and the John Hickman Award for outstanding achievement in Equine Studies. Following an equine internship and working for two years in mixed general practice in Suffolk, she returned to Cambridge to undertake a residency in Anaesthesia and Analgesia.
In 2012, Joanne became an EBVS® European Specialist in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia and is also an RCVS recognised specialist.
Joanne joined Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists in 2016 and brings a wealth of experience from working in private referral practice. She is passionate about all aspects of anaesthesia and analgesia, with a particular focus on supporting colleagues to deliver the highest standards of patient care. Her clinical interests include neuromuscular blockade, local and regional anaesthetic techniques, and the management of chronic pain — including the use of acupuncture.
Outside her clinical work, Joanne regularly reviews for scientific journals and is an Associate Editor for Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia. She has presented nationally, including at BSAVA Congress and the London Vet Show.
