Jo initially started working in animal care at the Toronto Wildlife Centre in Canada in 2013 where she completed a rehabilitation internship before moving to Australia for 6 months to work with Australian wildlife. She started working as a veterinary nurse in the UK in 2016, qualifying as an RVN in 2018 at the College of Animal Welfare.
Jo has worked primarily in first opinion practice with some time in exotic referral, she joined the night team at Lumbry in 2026. Jo enjoys emergency care and is currently undertaking her ECC nursing certificate.
In her spare time Jo enjoys walks with her German Shepherd dog, Anubis, and has previously volunteered for the bat conservation trust as a bat rehabilitator, taking in both adult bats who need some medical care and orphaned pups for hand rearing.
