Barney Dean

Barney graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2013 and, after an initial 18-months in 100% small animal practice, has spent the last 11-years working in referral practice around the south of England during which time he became a Specialist in Small Animal Surgery in 2021. He treats all orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery cases, but has a particular interest in trauma management, emergency surgery, and surgical oncology. Barney also enjoys teaching, regularly providing surgical training for many of the UK’s biggest CPD companies and for his own surgical training company, and has completed RVC’s Postgraduate Certificate in Veterinary Education. He is also currently working towards a Postgraduate Certificate in Veterinary Oncology and a Master’s in Clinical Veterinary Research. Outside of work Barney enjoys spending time with his young family, and doing pretty much anything sports-related.
