One in four dogs and one in five cats will develop cancer in their lifetimes. At Lumbry Park Specialists, we understand that a diagnosis of cancer can be distressing and cause anxiety for many pet owners. We offer the most advanced diagnostics to allow an early detection and comprehensive assessment of every cancer patient referred to us. In our state of art facility, every patient receives an extensive evaluation by our expert team, which includes specialist vets and nurses. During your pet’s first visit, we will thoroughly discuss the diagnosis with all up to date treatment options available. Just like in people, treatment options might include surgery, chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy. We pride ourselves in providing compassion and support to both client and the patient during one of the most difficult times a family can experience and so our goal is to guide you through the various treatment options and making sure you are comfortable in decision making and understand the potential outcomes and prognosis.
Our Oncology experts will coordinate advanced imaging techniques using diagnostic tests such as X-ray, ultrasound, MRI, CT and biopsy which can be ultrasound guided, endoscopic, or surgical depending on each individual patient. At Lumbry Park we believe in a team approach to managing patient care. Treatment options are surgical, chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
