Manuel Vega Sillero

Resident in Small Animal Surgery

Manu qualified as a veterinary surgeon from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2014. After working in first opinion and referral practice in Barcelona, he moved to the UK in 2018 to work as an emergency vet in the Southwest of England. Wanting to expand his referral experience, Manu moved to Scotland in 2020 to undertake a rotating internship at the University of Glasgow, which was followed by a period of OOH clinician before he became Junior Clinician in Surgery within their Soft Tissue and Orthopaedics departments.  On top of attending clinical duties, Manu also collaborated in research activities and undergraduate teaching.

Manu joined Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists as a discipline-specific intern in Surgery. He enjoys all aspects of Surgery, with particular interest in emergency surgery, oncological surgery and fracture repair.

When not at work, Manu likes attending CrossFit and fitness competitions, travelling to Barcelona to visit his family – including Bruce, a lovely rescued black Labrador and spending quality time with friends.
