Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunts – Percutaneous Transvenous Coil Embolisation

4th June 2021

Lissie Henderson is a specialist in small animal surgery and works as a soft tissue surgeon at Lumbry Park. In this short video, Lissie describes a minimally invasive procedure to treat portosystemic shunts (a congenital vascular abnormality associated with the liver).

For these cases, it is important to have not just a surgeon but also to have a knowledgeable anaesthesia team, theatre nursing team and intensive care nursing team.

At Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists we pride ourselves on our multidisciplinary team approach and ability to provide our patients with the highest standard of care.

If you have any queries about this procedure please don’t hesitate to contact us.
