Dr Maria Chie (Machi) Niimura del Barrio graduated from Universidad Complutense in Madrid (Spain) in 2008 and for three years she was an equine vet in Spain. Then she decided to join University College Dublin (UCD) Veterinary School (Dublin, Ireland) in 2012 to complete her European Residency in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medical Specialization. In 2017 she achieved the Diplomate status in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia and in 2018 the Doctor status. For almost three years she worked as an Assistant Professor in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia in UCD. In February 2019, Maria Chie joined Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists as a veterinary specialist in Anaesthesia and Analgesia. Maria Chie loves all aspects of anaesthesia but she is interested in areas such as ventilation and regional techniques for pain management.
